Can you hook up 4 separate PCs, each with 1080HD HDMI, and output each PC signal on a separate quadrant of an Ultra HD monitor simultaneously?
Answer :
no. The multi view display has four preset configurations. Since the switcher allows 48 inputs it shows all 8 inputs simultaneously as well as a preview and a program output display. You cannot reconfigure the multi view display to show only what you want. It can also be tricky getting computer signals to be recognized by the switcher.

There is an hdmi and sdi output to see all 8 inputs as well as preview and program signals in a multi view grid. You can output an isolated preview. You can output an auxiliary feed using the front soft buttons. Of course program signal is output hdmi and sdi.

You can see each of the input channels one by one on the small built in monitor. There is also a Preview HDMI out that is configurable to to show all of the inputs as a n-up matrix on one display. And the Blackmagic software displays the inputs channels as well. So, there are many choices and methods to preview.

I'm going go go ahead and just say that this probably isn't the product that you are looking for. It is a live production switcher. You probably need to look for just a video capture card. Look at the DeckLink cards for this function.

You can change output resolution, but you have to reboot the unit and change the resolution on ALL of your input devices(cameras, computers, etc.) to match the new resolution.

Yes, with HDMI or SDI, but please note that camera signals coming into switcher must match, for instance both 1080p or both 720p - cannot mix resolution or frame rates.
