This is a VERY sturdy rod clamp. I have a Sony A7 in a Vararon Zeus cage and needed to carry a Vlock battery to power the Sony and the Atomos Shogun. I wanted the rig smaller and not place it on a shoulder support, so i purchased 2 of these, cut some inexpensive 15mm rods to about 7", and with a Vlock plate that had rod clpams on it, I have a vlock battey on the side handle and it is incredibly strong with these railblocks

I machined an aluminium plate that screws into the threads from the back, gave it a nice brushed finish, and mounted the switch. Looks and functions great! This rail block is compatible with a 15mm LWS (Light Weight Support) standard. The 15mm rods are spaced 60mm apart on center. In the LWS standard the optical center of the camera is 85mm above the center line of the 15mm rods.
