Buy this if you have an Arlo
Anyone who has an Arlo system knows the absolute frustration of their crappy charging technology. From overpriced solar panels to cords and chargers THAT COME WITH THE CAMERA, none of it works. Way to go Netgear/Arlo.
For anybody that has to change batteries (I have to do it for 2 of my 6) I just use this thing. It charges the battery(ies) very quickly, lets you know when its fully charged and its not a hit or miss thing like bringing in the camera, plugging it in and looking at the app to see when its fully charged and it says an "incompatible charger has been connected" when it's Arlo's sh*t to begin with. Without this charger I would have just given away cameras and bought something else - that's how frustrated I was. So yeah, this is totally worth it.

I bought this product March 9, 2019. Being suspicious and previously disappointed by failed battery chargers, I also purchased the extended warranty ($1.48) offered through Amazon, underwritten by Square Trade.
Within two months, one port stopped working. The red light stayed on all the time. I charge only one battery at a time, so I continued using the other port. Six months later, the other side stopped working. Neither port will charge a battery. Attempting to file a claim, I learned that Square Trade policy does not go into effect until year 2; that the manufacturer is responsible for the first year. I also learned that Amazon does not cover anything after 6 months. I was stuck in a quagmire.
Needing another battery charger, I re-ordered the same one, but also wrote a bad review rating the device with only 1 star. Within 24 hours I had an email from the manufacturer wanting to "make things right". The next day, I replied to their email. Within 15 minutes of sending the email, I was speaking to their customer service representative. They knew I purchased a new charger and also knew I had written a bad review. They apologized for the device failure, promptly refunded my money.
I write this for all others to be aware that none of the 3 chargers I've purchased lasted for very long, even the Arlo-branded devices. But the good thing about this device, is it comes with great customer service. Secondly, don't waste your money on the extended warranty.

Must have for arlo cameras
The charger that actually came with my arlo kit was really short and charging one battery every so often was a little annoying. So I took a limp on this charger and I am glad I did. I can charge 2 batteries in a few hours (faster than the cable - it seems) and it seems to last a while. It's really made having my arlo security cameras less cumbersome. I like the charger and haven't had any of the problems the other reviewers seem to have... maybe because I use my cameras for personal use in my home.

My Arlo Pro 2 never seemed to hold a charge. I was charging it once a week. I read the reviews saying they were getting longer battery life after using this charger. THEY WERE CORRECT! Since using this charger by batteries life between charging has at least doubled. Great product. So I lost the OEM charger for my Arlo Pros, and have not been able to charge them since the batteries were completely dead. Plugging them up to a regular USB would not charge my batteries. Arlo pro need 8 to 9v at 1 amp or 1.3 amp. This charger so far is working. After 3 cycle charges I will updated this review. Well packaged too and arrived early is a plus

I was super excited to find this charger on Amazon, since I misplaced the Arlo charger that came with my Arlo cameras. I was even more excited when it actually worked, since the Arlo cameras are soo picky about what will actually charge the batteries. Unfortunately this is typical. I got a charger that was dead on arrival. I was hoping that the negative reviews would be the exception rather than the rule, but it does not appear to be so. I ended up getting micro USB cables and wall USB chargers. I hooked up all my indoor cameras to the wall. For the outdoor cameras, I can circulate those batteries to the inside cameras. I found the OEM cables and chargers on eBay. Cheap.
