A nearly perfect item for small cars.
To put it in perspective, i currently drive a 2010 Hyundai Accent. I like the car, but the blind spots are pretty awful. It seems all the pillars are too big or in the wrong spot. To make me better aware of the cars i normally can't see well, I dug into blind spot mirrors. I've now tried large and small round mirrors, a partially round mirror, and this rectangular unit. I came to the conclusion that this one is ideal for cars with small mirrors.
Round mirrors give you a wide view of everything. Since i'm less interested in any aircraft that may be following me, round mirrors turned out to be a giant waste of space. The useful portions of the mirror were relatively small and my preferred 3" mirrors took up way too much space. With a round mirror, 1/2 of it showed me my own car, which isn't likely to crash into itself. This rectangular mirror effectively cuts off the top and bottom of a round mirror, giving you the ability to see quite wide, without taking up a lot of vertical real estate. Given the mirror's outward bias, you also won't be staring at your own car.
In my car, these mirrors (i bought the larger, 2.5 x 3.75" ones) sit on the lower inside corners of my side-view mirrors. This way, i have my convex mirrors for the blind spots and still have plenty of my "regular" mirror area left for looking in the distance.
Build quality isn't spectacular, but you get what you paid for at this price. Optical quality is good, with only minimal distortion at the very edges of the mirrors. The bulk of the mirror area is quite clear and works well. If i could pay perhaps $20 for a higher-quality version of this product, i definitely would. Given the price and how well they work, i still consider these a 5-star product.

I trust my life to these (and here's how I use them)
I drive an '04 Toyota Sienna and I love these in the 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" size.
Blind spot mirrors are less intuitive than the side mirrors they're stuck onto - you must actually focus your eyes into them in order for them to do you any good. Side mirrors will show you things with a simple thoughtless glance, but you bought a blind spot mirror in order to see more, in a tinier spot, and that is going to require an intentional refocus of vision. The good news is once you adjust your driving habits to include spotting two mirrors before changing lanes instead of just one, it becomes second nature. The bad news? If you don't train yourself to look at them they can't help you.
Here's how I use mine: I apply to the inner lower corner of a side mirror. The "blind spot mirror" now becomes the primary mirror I use to answer the question: "Are there THINGS anywhere nearby on that side? Whether it be people, cars, animals, whatever, I'll see it. I'll see it if it's right next to the van door, or if it's two lanes over. The rest of my side mirror is used to verify and confirm what "things" is, is doing, and how par away precisely. The rest of my side mirror is still nice for its clarity of items close to it.
Before obtaining the blind spot mirror, entire cars would be lost in my blind spot. I tested it. Now? Nothing does. Nothing can.
I have a spinal issue that can become aggravated with head checks. Thanks to these blind spot mirrors, head checks have become a thing of the past.
Prior to this I drove a full size Chevy G20 van that had round blind spot mirrors that were much smaller. I used them, but couldn't trust them. These ones are large enough and clear enough that I'm confident staking my life on the information they display to me. And if that's not worthy of a 5 star rating I don't know what is.
Only con is some people might think they feel/look cheap. I though so from the package, but on my XLE Sienna they blend right in so it doesn't bother me. Only one per package.
I did a lot of comparison shopping before settling on this one and am glad I did! If my review was helpful to you please let me know, it makes my day! :)

Great price and good quality.
I put these on my 2014 Honda Ridgeline. I love the truck, but the blind spots are pretty awful. It seems all the pillars are too big or in the wrong spot. To make me better aware of the cars i normally can't see well, I dug into blind spot mirrors. I've now tried round mirrors. I came to the conclusion that this one is ideal for autos.

Efective, Long Lasting, and accurate Blind spot mirrors
This the most amazing mirror for blindspot accuracy and visibility on the market. I have had these or similar on my 2002 Honda Odyssey Van for 16 years (parked outside) and they were on there when I sold it in 2018. These mirrors are and have been on all of our family's cars and we all love them. So my experience shows that the critics who say it is cheap and flimsy are wrong...this mirror will last MANY years. It is inabtrusive and does the best job out there. I am only interested in seeing what is in my blind spot on both sides and this is the best for that. You can see for certain at a glance. I find the round convex mirrors distracting and it is hard to judge distance. These mirrors you absolute know. DO yourself a favor and purchase these for your safety. The fat part pf the mirror is next to the window.

LOVE LOVE LOVE These!
Love these! I had these on my old car and loved how they helped find the blind spots on the sides of my car. I was super happy to find these here so I could get them for my new car. The bigger ones cover too much of the mirrors. These are perfect for a "medium" mirror, like on a Kia Sportage or Nissan Ultimata. Some people disagree on where to put them, but I personally prefer these on the bottom inside of the mirror with the thick edge on the inside. This position can block the view right next to the tires on a trailer the car is pulling, but works good for me.
By the way, start with a clean surface and they will stick without any problems.

Drivers side blindspot resolved at last
I placed this mirror on the outside drivers side mirror as suggested and it took to much of the space it made the original mirror almost unusable. It was also hard to see in rainy conditions. I then found the perfect place. I put it vertically on the inside front pillar of the drivers side door pillar adjacent to the outside mirror with the thick side of the mirror down. I put a 3M adhesive tape strip on the back of the mirror closest to the window and attached it to the post so the outside of the mirror was about 1/8 inch from the inside of the window so it did not interfere with normal window operation. Now I have a full view behind through the standard outside rear view mirror and a quick glance at the blind spot mirror shows any vehicle that may be in the rear corner blind spot until that vehicle is clearly visible beside my car. Also, since it is inside the car it is unaffected by rain and since it is closer to my eyes, it is easier to see. It easily covers the two adjacent lanes on the interstate.

Great Mirror
I installed this on the bottom right of my driver side 1990 4runner side mirror. For some reason, the stock mirrors on the driver side of the 1990 4runner are flat, not convex (there's no "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" warning). I had to turn my head very far to check my blind spot.
With this new mirror, I can see the lane beside me great. My blind spot is fully covered, so I do not even have to turn my head to look behind me. I can also see 2 lanes over to check if someone is about to transfer to the lane that I may want to change to. Due to the mirrors size, I do not even have to look at my regular mirror
I also like that is not a round mirror. The round mirrors show a lot of the sky which is not only unnecessary but problematic. If driving away from the sun when close to sunset or sunrise, your eyes will have the sun reflected to them which is bothersome.
This mirror fits great on my 4runner, but it is a very large mirror; too large for most cars. The same company makes a similar model that is a bit smaller.

Great and eliminates the blind spot
I got the larger 2.5" x 3.75" mirror for the driver's side on an older Toyota Camry. This size takes up a good 1/3 of the existing total mirror space but after a bit of getting used to, I like it. I mounted this on the lower outside of my mirror though the package seems to recommend placing it on the inside. Being that it takes so much of my mirror space, this position seemed optimal for me and shows a bit less of my car and more of what's next to me.
I can see about two lanes over where my usual blind spot used to be, which is really helpful when merging on to the freeway (my main motivation for getting this). With so much viewing angle available, one will need to think about "objects are closer than they appear" for a bit while getting used to this, especially at night.
Viewing angle is large, mirror shape (rectangle) seems perfect, build-quality is good, especially for the price. The double sided mounting tape is quite large (covers most of the back) and should be secure for a long time.

Great addition for the Toyota FJ Cruiser!
I added one of these wedges to each of the side view mirrors on my FJ Cruiser and love them! They stick on very securely and the size is perfect for the FJ. I have found that these mirrors are the perfect size for truck mirrors and allow you to see so much better than the smaller sizes. Since I set my mirrors correctly, I didn't really have much of a blind spot to begin with, however these just add a little more assurance and comfort when making lane changes. Being a motorcyclist, I owe this to my fellow cyclists just in case one finds himself in a bad spot next to my SUV. These really help keep everyone a bit safer!
I have been through several car washes since installing these with no issues. They are still attached securely and the mirror finish still looks new.

Should be on all cars, side cameras or not
Will never drive without these. I've had them on all my cars and my work vehicle. I mount them at bottom outer surface with tall edge towards car and tapered edge away from car. Have used them on 93-97 volvo 850s, 06 volvo s60r, 89 GMC sierra, 02 chevy silverado, and honda element. The sticky pad included works well and lasts long. If moving from the vehicle it takes some elbow grease to remove pad from window, I recommend 3m outdoor double sided sticky tape for new installs.

Question & Answer
Question :
does it work with heated mirrors?
Answer :
Yes, works with all mirrors. Please note, the heat from your OEM mirror will not transfer heat to this mirror. I simply wipe the convex mirror if fog condensation is present. I have used these mirrors for many, MANY years. I lease cars, so I have transferred several sets over the years from car to car. The set I have now are at least 4-5 years old, the mirror is still in perfect condition, only the black portion is slightly faded from black to dark gray. There are several other brands/styles, pass on those.
Question :
How big is
Answer :
They are NOT 2 x 1 as answered by someone. They are 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 Inches, the perfect size I have had these on a car for 18 years --still good
Question :
Does the thicker part of the rectangluar mirror go towards the car?
Answer :
Yes, the thicker part of the rectangular mirror does go towards the car. We mounted these rectangular mirrors on the bottom inside corner of the car mirror. When looking at the inside portion of your car mirror you will see the side of your car. That is why the lower inside part of the mirror is the perfect spot.
Question :
Is there one or two of these in a pack? Because I ordered this last year and now it's double the price, so maybe it already ships in two.
Answer :
One. At least that is what I got last year.
Question :
Does the thicker part of the mirror go towards the car on the passenger side mirror as well ?
Answer :
The mirror can be placed anywhere and in any way on the mirror that gives you, the driver, the best use and visibility from the mirror after installed. Our advice is to put a piece of double-sided tape on the back, get in the driver's seat, shut the door, and assume a normal driving position. Place the 49702 mirror on your vehicle mirror in a position that most benefits you without obstructing the normal view provided from your vehicle mirror. Once you position the mirror in the best spot, remove the adhesive backing on the mirror and permanently mount the 49702 to your vehicle mirror.
Question :
I mistakenly put one on incorrectly. Can I take it off and put it on again correctly? Thanks for help
Answer :
Yes, but have to peel it off very gently and very, very slowly. If it takes you less than a minute to peel it off, you are doing it too fast and will tear the foam that the adhesive is on. If it tears, remove it, and remove the adhesive on the car mirror and the small mirrow with a scraper blade. Then buy Precut Foam Mounting 1 Squares, Double-Sided, Permanent 16/Pack by Scotch® (from Amazon) and use it to mount the mirror.
Question :
How many of these mirrors do you get for $5.70? One or two?
Answer :
One, but it's a great little mirror. I've used them for years.
