Absolutely Love it

I already own the Fujifilm brand vented lens hood and it's very nice, but I wanted to try this Haoge LH-X35, and I absolutely love it. The fit and finish are suburb using the same high quality materials of the other Haoge square lens hoods that I own. They are screw-on universal hoods though, but this one is a dedicated bayonet-mounted lens hood for the Fujifilm XF35mm f2 and XF23mm f2, which I prefer.

The only advantage of the vented Fujifilm hood is that when you are using it on the X-Pro2 with the optical finder, it doesn't block as much of the bottom right corner of the frame with the 23mm f2, and doesn't block any of the frame on the 35mm f2. The advantage of the Haoge is that feels better in the hand, it's a better looking design, and it has the option of a fitted metal lens cap. It is also $20 less expensive than the Fujifilm version. Another advantage is that If you already own the Haoge lens cap, it fits a few dozen of their hoods including this one.. I also prefer the way the hood flanges on the end because I like to sit my camera and lenses hood down. You can see it in the attached photos with the Fujifilm X-Pro2, and a side-by-side comparison with the Haoge 46mm hood (LH-B46T) which is slightly thinner on the end. I prefer the design of this hood to the 46mm hood.

The only disadvantage of this hood is that it blocks the very bottom right corner of the optical finder with both the 23mm f2 and the 35mm f2 Fujifilm lenses. If Haoge ever redesigns this, I would suggest a cut out on that corner like some of the Leica lens hoods have. For any other camera other than the X-Pro2, it's not a factor at all.

Highly Recommended.

Beautiful, Fits Perfectly

Like many people, I love my Fujifilm XF35 and XF23 F2 lenses. However, like many people, I hated the look of the OEM lens hood (it does work fine but I like the look of classic rangefinder cameras and lenses. Anyways, the Haoge rectangular lens hood solves that issue. It is made of metal (not plastic like the Fuji OEM), fits tightly on the lens, works like a charm, is super protective of the lens, and makes the lens/camera look like a beautiful classic setup. I love it.

Does not fit

Disappointing as it doesn't fit the Fujinon XF35mm F2 even though product description says it does. I tried two of them as Amazon sent a replacement and neither one fits. Seems like inconsistent production quality. Will be trying another brand.

Update 7/11/2019:-
Contacted the seller and they immediately sent out another lens hood to me. This one works - finally! The hood screws on perfectly and looks great. Amending initial rating of 1 star to 5 stars for a really nice product and good customer service.

The hood is made of metal and looks great. It is much better than stock hood and ...

Fit my 35mm f/2 WR perfectly, very premium looking lens hood with bayonet mount that snaps onto the lens perfectly. The hood is made of metal and looks great. It is much better than stock hood and very nice alternative to Fuji's optional hood with vented slots. No regrets on this one, and will definitely consider more products from this brand.

Does what it should do!

At first glance this seemed a bit expensive for what it is. I bought it anyways because I like the look but I've been pleasantly surprised by how stable it is to set the camera down on the hood. This keeps marks off of my lens and the bottom of the camera while concentrating wear on the sturdy hood.

The bayonet mount portion of the hood is a high quality plastic piece glued into the metal hood so that the hood will not scratch your lens. The fit is excellent.

Great fit and finish

Very nice lens hood for the Fuji 35mm f2 R WR lens, fit is snug no rattle, but, not too tight or hard to get off. Over all very happy with the hood and cover, the price could be a little better for what it is, but, recommended if you like square hoods as opposed to the tiny round hood that comes with the lens.

Great Lens Hood for Fuji XF Lenses

High quality lens hood, very well-made, all metal, looks great on Fuji lenses. Offers good degree of lens protection for bangs and bumps. Have it mounted on my Fuji CF 23mm F2. Love it.

Excellent Hood

These are well made metallic hoods and fit my Fujinon lens perfectly. I like the square look and they do offer some functionality and add to the overall look of the camera package. I buy them for all of my Fuji lens!

Fantastic lens hood.

Great build quality. Fit and finish are top notch. Big improvement over stock Fuji lens hood for the XF35mmf2. Immediately noticed an improvement in intense sun light. Also noticeably easier to work around LED backlighting.

No cons would recommend.

Sorry for dark shots in office bad light in here with S9+

Question & Answer

Question :

Will this lens hood fit my x100f fixed lens?

Answer :

NO definitely not. Will only fit 23mm F2 WR and 35mm F2 WR. THe x100f used the lens hoof fromt he x100T which is way nicer in my opinion. I used to have it. Looks great.

Question :

How far does this stick out when attached to 23mm F2 lens? I don't have much room in my camera bag. Thanks.

Answer :

The Hood sticks out 19mm, without the Hood, a filter and lens cap sticks out 11mm.

Question :

Will this type of lens cap fit in the hood - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b002keyy6k/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=atvpdkikx0der&psc=1

Answer :

Its compatible with the stock lens caps for the lenses.

Question :

Will this work with a filter attached to the lens?

Answer :

The lens hood will not affect the used of filter.

Question :

I just got my this lens hood. It doesn't seem to snap on super tight. It doesn't take much to loosen the hood. Does anyone else have this experience?

Answer :

for me the hood works fine.

Question :

Square or rectangular?

Answer :

This lens hood is rectangular, 68mm x 59mm. It fits both the XF23mm f/2.0, and the XF35mm f/2.0. It is a good replacement for the original XF35mm F/2.0 lens hood, whereas the original lens hood on the XF23mm f/2.0 is small, inconspicuous, and functional. So the benefit of this hood on that lens (23mm) is more cosmetic than functional. It just looks so very good along with providing good protection. I have it on both lenses.

Question :

Does this hood obscure the optical viewfinder on the x-pro2?

Answer :

Agreed with the other responses. It does show in the OVF. Roughly 9% of the viewer. Its not enough to bother me. YMMV.

Question :

Will this work with the 35mm f1.4?

Answer :

The LH-X35 would be too small for the XF35mm f1.4. It is designed for the 23mm or 35mm f2.0 R WR lenses.

Question :

Exactly how many days to arrive in Turkey, you provide international shipping, right?

Answer :

This is delivered by FBA.

Question :

Will this work with the fujifilm xf 50mm f/2 r?

Answer :

No, the 50mm f/2 has a larger diameter than the 35mm f/2.
The 35mm f/2 has a 43mm filter threes while the 50mm f/2 has a 46mm thread.
Haoge does make a hood specifically for the 50mm f/2 lens.
