This little gem is just that - little (i.e. mini). It provides roughly 6EV (160lux) at 5 feet which translates to roughly 150 lumens (if you are comparing it to other LED panels).
It does do exactly what it says it can do and it does it very well. Build quality is exceptional and sports an all aluminum housing. Yes, you can get more LED light from a panel for the same money, I've used some of them, they're great while they work, but rarely last me an entire year.
All things considered, this is not a lot of light, it can not compare to a strobe or a larger LED panel. It is about the size of a credit card and can be used to add a little diffused fill light at close distances. It is also great for macro work! Attach 2 to 4 of these to your camera cage and you have 300 to 600 lumens of super portable, easily handled light. Wish they would make them water proof, they'd be perfect for underwater video.
If you need more light from a single source, which most of us do, the same company makes 2 larger sizes.
On a side note, it is a super high quality light for camping, reading or emergency auto repair and mounts easily to a light weight Joby for attaching to anything!
Looking forward to a follow up review after using it for 12 months.

Great, super-bright, useful little tool!
I'm surprised by how useful these have been already. Simple to use and very useful
I used this light, straight out of the box, to light up my macro shot of some Christmas décor and since I am a rookie to photography I was surprised of the quality image I was able to produce without ever having used a light, other than my camera flash or natural light, to light up any of my subject of photography. The light is very bright for it's small size and the diffuser is very nice. The warmth of the light is very nice. In my shot I did not use the warm light because I wanted to create the effect of the cold of the snow - it turned out nice, I think.

Excellent Battery Life
I'm using this LumeCube panel as a fill light when I'm videoconferencing from the desktop after sundown. It keeps going and going for the longest sessions. Depends on what setting you put it on. You have 3200 for tungsten lighting or 5600 as sun light gives off a lot of light. You can adjust how much light you want 0- to 100%. Hope this helps.

I don't see an easy way to do it. It is nearly as big as a smartphone. It is easy to mount on a tripod. I think you can find a way to do it if you do some research.

Answer :
Any back-up battery pack will work... there are lots of options out there, and there should be no compatibility issues. As long as you have a USB to USB-C cable almost any back-up charger should be fine.

Is the Lume cube mini panel compatible with the canon rebel t5i and what is the best way to use it ?

Yes. If you buy the one with the cold shoe fitting adapter to a 1/4 inch screw, you just use the threaded socket on the light attached to the adapter. I don't use it like that, though, because you get focused front lighting.
This light is best for subjects less than about 5 foot distance. Better at lighting for video than a photo flash situation. Nice that you can dial in the color temperature to somewhat compensate for ambient lighting indoors. I use it on its own 14" tripod for filming on a desk/workbench.
Note that any small light like this isn't very soft despite the diffuser. It works good at lighting the poorly lit side of something.

It will, has great mount for it, the one issue I have is the battery life, but I bought a battery pack that now power\s my lights and my go pro as well all day.

Answer :
I think that you must misunderstand the role of the hot shoe mount for this device. It has no electrical connections, and it does not provide electronic "syncing" or triggering. It is just a physical mount. It is a loose fit on my Sony and Canon SLRs. My guess is that it is compatible with just about any standard style hot shoe - again, just as a physical mount. The light works continuously - like a flashlight or a video light.

The description says this light is "credit card sized", but the dimensions are shown as 3.3" by 5.5", much bigger than a credit card. which is it?

The Lume Cube mini is only a bit larger than a credit card. It is 2.3" x 3.3" . My credit cards are 2.1" x 3.4". Remember, this is the Lume Cube MIni we are talking about, not the Lume Cube.

If you use the Lyme cube with an umbrella or white disk it bounces the light and makes it appear bigger. It’s a great little light.

It has a standard flash mount attachment and fits my Nikon D7200, so I assume it would also fit another Nikon.
