Saved Me From Smashing My Glasses With a Hammer!

This is the first time I've ever had polycarbonate lenses, and I had no idea how hard they'd be to clean. There was constantly an oily film on the lenses, and everything I did to try and clean them resulted only in smearing the oil around. I tried various cleaning cloths, eye glass cleaner spray, pre-moistened wipes, and a magnasonic cleaner. I even tried the ridiculous Google suggestion that all I needed was a dab of dishwashing liquid, a rinse, and a clean towel. I was inches away from accidentally destroying my glasses so I'd have to get a new pair.

The ONLY good microfiber cloth I have ever used

I'm not one to write reviews so quickly after receiving things, but I have to comment on these cloths! I usually dislike microfiber cloths - I know they are supposedly great for cleaning your glasses and screens, but every single microfiber cloth I've ever used has left unbearable streak marks on every surface - whether used by itself or with a cleaning product. When I opened these cloths, I immediately used one to clean my glasses that I hadn't been able to clean properly all day, and were streaky as a result of cleaning on my tshirt....I used one of these cloths, and nothing else, and my glasses came out streak free and beautiful! Love these. I was hesitant to spend so much on cloths I was pretty sure I wouldn't like, but these blew me away! Most definitely will buy again. My adult son bought an expensive DLSR camera and I asked if he needed anything to go with it. He had everything major but did need some lens cleaning cloths. I told him to pick some out and I would buy them for him (for no reason other than I am his mom). He looked for quite a while and these are the ones he chose. He especially liked the gray one because it helps with his photography in getting the right white balance as well as cleans his lenses. The black ones are great too for anything that needs a soft microfiber cloth. He gave me two black ones and I use them on my phone, TV, glasses, and many other things. They work great. No lint and no streaking. My son says the gray cloth does just what he wants it to do and is very happy with the black ones as well for his lenses as well as other things he owns.

I didn't realize there were differences in these types of microfiber cloths but apparently there are. These are very good and will leave behind nothing but a clean surface. They're well priced for six individually encased cloths too. They come in little plastic envelopes so you can carry one in your purse, backpack, camera case, or even pocket.

Best Microfiber for cleaning glasses, TVs, etc (also good price).

Quality microfiber cloth for any optics, especially glasses. Because I tend to get my glasses dirty quite often, I have to clean them several times a day, so I need a good product that will last. I have found MagicFiber to be one of the best microfiber cloth and a value for the price on Amazon. I like getting the large ones like these because I keep on or two for cleaning my monitors and big screen TVs and will cut each of the rest into 4 pieces and use them for my glasses. Because of oils on your skin and the stuff you clean off the lenses, I typically will hand wash them after about a half dozen uses and they hold up well (haven't had to throw any away yet and I don't see having to for a very long time, if ever). Because I have so many of these, I only have to wash them every couple months. Highly recommend.

FYI, I have researched lens cleaners and have found the best to be those from Zeiss. The ones for glasses and camera lenses are:

How to wash microfiber cloth to keep it free of oil and impurities ?

 This foame lens shampoo and magicfiber cloth are the best combo you can get. I wash eyeglasses and frame AND the magifiber microfiber cloth using foame for the best performance.

I originally got these cleaning cloths years ago when they were blue...my family kept taking some from me because of how well they worked. I managed to keep my first opened up until today even. I always have one on me and I've given some to friends who really liked them. This past Christmas I looked to get some more and was so happy that MagicFiber had them in a 30 pack still. I bought this recent set of 29 black microfiber cloths and 1 grey cloth to multiple in the stockings of my family members, they all use them and if they lose one then they have a few more so my stash is safe from being nabbed. These are a bit big but not huge so they can easily be put into a pocket or purse, or even wallet, to take around where ever we go. I've washed my old blue ones only once in a load of their own on a gentle wash and then an air dry setting of the dryer to be safe, they came out nice and clean and ready to be used again. To keep it lasting long for eye glasses or small screens, I use the outside first, then the inside while keeping it folded so the dirty outside doesn't get the inside dirty.

AWESOME and EASY to clean

These cloths work very well! They leave NO scratches on the lenses or glass screen. My fiance and I use these on our new glasses and on our Samsung tablets. They are amazing little cloths. No smudging AND they are absorbant when you use eyeglass cleaner for the tougher spots (sweat stains or splashback from an oily substance)! I've ordered them TWICE! That is how much I like them <3

To clean my cloths, I used a small bucket (butter bowl works well if you save them), pour in a splash of laundry soap (dish soap works too) and fill with warm or hot water. Soak the cloths in it, slosh it around some every few minutes. Even if you put a product on the cloths that cakes on (toothpaste or a glass paste for scratch removal) this method works to clean out that paste! You may have to scrub them a small bit,, though. DON'T panic if the water turns black! This is normal and won't ruin the cloths. It is just soaking out the excess dye in the fabric.

Then you rinse them out really well and set them in the sun to dry.

I wouldn't trust the washing machine to wash them, it may ruin the cloth.

Please get these cloths, they are great and at a GREAT value too.

Thank you for your question! The grey MagicFiber was the original color of the MagicFibers for our photography accessories. It was such a popular product we continued including 1 in all of our sets. In fact many people have requested to purchase sets of all grey MagicFibers. They are also available in a variety of other colors (same exact quality), all for sale here on Amazon by searching 'MagicFiber'. Please be wary of imitation cloths and sellers. They make look similar in the photos but are not the same high quality microfiber cloths.

Are there any type of chemicals embedded in the magicfiber cloths to help them clean? Or is it just a really well constructed microfiber cloth?

Answer :

I don't believe there are any chemicals in the magicfiber cloths, rather just really well constructed cloth, as you suggested. With your question, however, I've sniffed the cloths and smell nothing and I've also washed some a time or two and their effectiveness hasn't been compromised. I will admit that when we use the cloth for cleaning our eyeglasses, if they're quit dusty/greasy/whatever, it's obviously best to at least rinse them first as anything you use to rub on the glasses can scratch them. For ordinary daily use and as wipes for computer monitor, tv screen, cell phone, etc., they work great and I see no sign of a chemical residue on the glass. But be sure to hand wash in warm water and air dry as the packaging states...which takes only a minute, and just lay on a paper towel to dry. The packaging does also state that the magicfiber cloths are good for drying wine glasses and other fine crystal...which would also indicate to me that there are no chemicals in the cloth because one would obviously be drinking or eating out of these items. Another great thing about these larger cloths is that you can leave them their original size or cut them to any handy size you want. My husband and I've found that often microfiber cloths for cleaning are just not quite big enough for particular tasks. I hope this answers your question, and then some.

Answer :

That's the only reason i have them. These are the best, and don't scratch any surface covering on them. I do suggest you put your glasses under running water first to knock off anything that could get dragged around. While they're still wet you can clean them. These last for years!

If you place your cursor over the extra large pack it has a picture of the regular and extra large cloths. The extra large are 16" x 16" and you get three cloths in a package.

Soft suede. Works beautifully on my $180.00 Oakley sunglasses, which constantly need cleaning as I cycle often. The trick is to always rinse off the debris before wiping with any cloth. I use these clothes after I wash my glasses to get them ultra-clean.

These cloths are just as good or better than the cloth that comes with Apple computers. I have an iMac and just used one to clean it. The only fluid you are supposed to use with the MagicFiber cloth is warm water. You can thoroughly clean the MagicFiber cloths with just warm water and air drying.

I replace once they don't clean my lenses as good, leaving streaks. They lasted me awhile, months.
