Great Lighting Boom at a Great Price
I was kind of concerned by a review that said this boom would not hold much weight when fully extended, but I bought it anyway. I have tried it successfully with a Godox AD600BM strobe, a Newer SK300 strobe and a lightweight Godox AD200 strobe. It handles the AD600, but at full extension it is at about its maximum capacity. The Godox AD600BM with a diffuser weighs around 9 lbs. In the pictures I have a Neewer SK300 in a Godox 48" umbrella box. It handles this with no issues. The boom arm came with no instructions at all. I decided that the best way to mount it in my studio was to skip the outside holes, and just use the center holds to secure it to a stud. I used six 3 inch #10 cabinet hanging screws. I removed the plate from the assembly so that it would be easier to attach to the wall. It seems very secure. I like it enough that I will be purchasing another boom for another strobe.

So easy!
This wall-mounted boom must have been designed specifically for softboxes in small studios! Save space and make it easier to use. Because the softbox is not really heavy, I don't worry about any accidents at all. When I don't need it, I just push it to the wall, so easy!

Thumbs up!
Before this one I bought a fairly mentally handicapped product, maybe someone would like it but never be me. that boom arm is completely parallel to the ground. When you set it in the position you are just able to reach, the protruding crossbar is completely an obstacle. This product perfectly avoids this fool design, and the downward angle is the real space-saving setting! Thumbs up!

Great Camera Support
I made a custom mount to use with this arm so we could roll it around. This arm is well made and works very well for a camera mount and or light support.

recommended
Be careful not to let them hit your head! This pole is actually very long, up to 1.8m. The softbox is not heavy, so it won't slip even at an angle that slopes down. The whole can be folded horizontally, no problems. I'd like to recommend it.

Love the freed up floor space
I absolutely love the fact that there is no longer a light stand to step around. Installation was straightforward (4 wood screws in a wall stud). Its easy to adjust positions and has no problem holding a 4 lb. video light with a 36" hexadecagon softbox. All in all 5 stars.
Only suggestion for Neewer would be that if they aren't going to include assembly instructions with their products, maybe a quick YouTube video showing someone assembling the equipment would be helpful. I've heard of more than a few people who didn't want the hassle of it figuring out on their own and returned the item instead.

Nice try anyway.
I need to punch holes in the wall, which makes me hesitate. But since I have made this purchase decision, I am willing to give it a try. Someone with experience helped me, but the next steps were simple. This wall-mounted boom is ideal for supporting softboxes and saving more space.

Tips for saving space.
Tips for saving space. Secured to the wall with four expansion screws, everyone should think carefully about this. You need to make right holes on the wall first, and this screw is very difficult to remove once it's in place... so there is absolutely no need to worry about its stability. This wall-mounted boom is one of things I have to buy because of my personal space saving needs.

Perfect addition to my studio
Perfect addition to my studio. I did not have any issues installing them and so far they have done a great job of holding everything I have attached. The are very versatile because of how many things you can use them with. Very pleased!

Easy to install permanent light fixture
This is a great permanent fixture for lights. If you have a studio setup, this is perfect. You can use it for other things (reflectors and whatever), but I needed it for some lights. It's adjustable so it's very useful. I love it. Was easy to install.

Question & Answer
Question :
Can i use to to mount my canon rebal camera ? im trying to make a wall mounted set up to take over head videos ?
Answer :
Not sure about mounting to a camera. I use it for my strobe lights. I also mounted it to my ceiling where I can now position my strobe light for all four walls in my bonus room. Having it on the ceiling did take away some of the movement from left to right but up & down & in & out works great. There is probably an adapter to mount camera's to it you'll have to search the web for it. Basically they do give you 2 short poles that fits at the end.
Question :
Is there a way to hide the wires inside of the boom arm?
Answer :
No there is no product designed ways of hiding wires inside.
Question :
Is it able to hold 20 pounds?
Answer :
Yes, but repeated use of the screw clamp will most-likely strip the cheap hardware it comes with.
Question :
. For those of you that bought different screws for this can you please tell what you bought? I'm having a handiman install this for me Thanks
Answer :
I bought 3 inch screws to make sure it is anchored good. Yeah it's a bit of an overkill , but I dont want this thing falling off the wall.
Question :
What is the load limit for this (180cm mount)? I want to use it as a mic boom and have an isolation shield. 7 pounds and change with everything? Safe?
Answer :
The structure itself would take 7 pounds, however, the hardware on it is cheap and I’ve had to replace it with nicer hardware from the store. You’d have to wrench the thing down pretty tightly to get it to stay. If you could add some sort of hydraulic support by replacing the lower arm, that would greatly help. All in all, yes, I think it would support the weight but the torque you’d need for the clamp to hold the main bar in place would possibly be beyond the means of the stock hardware.
Question :
The plastic broke where the smaller arm attaches to the telescoping part of the larger arm. Is it possible to get a replacement piec so that I can fix
Answer :
The hardware in this item is absolute garbage and I’ve had to replace stripped bolts on all three of my Arms. Many of these replacement parts I’ve been able to find at Ace Hardware. As far as the plastic piece you’re mentioning, I’m not too sure. The only plastic on my Arm are the T-shaped plastic knobs, the clamp handle, and a few washers
Question :
What is the weight limit? I have a 21 LB spot light.
Answer :
I have not used that weight, but the build appears to be adequate to hold that weight as long as it is well secured to the wall,
Question :
Why did the price increase $40?
Answer :
Supply and demand
Question :
can you use this to mount a ring light ?
Answer :
Yes
Question :
Does anyone know exactly how to mount a camera onto this? What type of adapter would I need?
Answer :
That would truly depend on what kind of camera and for what purpose.
