Worth every penny!

Definitely worth the cost. Yes, you can get any old plastic loupe for much cheaper. But once you've had this, you won't go back to your cheap loupe. The elements, coatings, and precision manufacturing make for a VERY bright, clear picture at 22 power. Fantastic! And it comes with a snazzy little black, felt-lined case, unlike the cheaper Peak loupes. This is a precision instrument for sure.

Great quality high magnification loupe

Clear image with very high magnification - a lot of others that claim 22x don't appear nearly that powerful. Also it feels well built. I would caution that it's really 22x - so you really need to be looking at something small - it's field of view is probably about a half-inch, and your nose will just about be touching a flat surface that you are magnifying.

Question & Answer

Question :

What power loupe would be good to view 8mm film cells on a lighted table?

Answer :

I use this loupe for tattoo needles so I can't give a accurate answer

Question :

Is this loupe good for looking at 35mm film negatives?

Answer :

I've been using this loupe in my manufacturing floor to inspect optical & fiber optics. I don't see why this can't be used for 35mm film negatives. Due to the high magnification, your filed of view will be small. You will be able to inspect a small part of your negative.
