A must have!

Amazing sandbags! Great construction. I advise getting one gallon zip locks and filling them and then place them in the zipper compartment of the sandbag. Easy peasy. Nice and pro looking on set

Sturdy and Double Zipper

Buying this was a bit of a fiasco, but in the end I'm happy with the product once I finally received what I ordered. I went with another brand that was a couple bucks cheaper, that was supposed to have double zippers. Well, it came with velcro only, so I moved on. I decided to go with Amazon Basics instead, and once again to save a couple bucks I got a used one from the warehouse with only damage to the box. Well, they sent me the wrong item, so exchange.

Once I got the bags, I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't expect this unit to have double zippers, but it did. I'll have to reread the descripsion to see if that was even promised. Bottomline, I finally go the product I wanted after two returns, but in the end I'm happy with the product.

I'm using these to keep a gate from moving when our new puppy jumps on it. These are plenty heavy enough for that application.

Good for Stabilizing a Christmas Tree Stand

Easy to use. I filled the bags with pea stone and placed them on the base of a Christmas Tree stand thus preventing the tree from tipping over.

Good...not great.

These are surprisingly well-built, EXCEPT for the inner zipper. It's very easy to snag in the open position. Under normal use, no big deal as you don't open the bag to expose the inner zipper anyway. If you buy these, carefully open the inner zipper, not all the way, before filling.

I also agree with other reviewers who say to pre-fill a plastic food storage bag with the sand before placing in the inner bag. Or don't use sand, go with a small aggregate rock. We use pea gravel all the time and it works great.

Nice sand bags

I wanna say they can hold maybe 10-12 pounds of sand. The four of them took just about a 50 pound bag of play sand. The nice thing is that they are double zippered so they seal up nice and don’t leak. They have a nice big handle which is good for carrying and even using to exercise with. I use them help hold my hammock stand down so the winds don’t flip it over. I was glad they don’t have a plastic liner as I don’t mind the sand getting wet as this will only make them heavier and thus more effective. If you are planning on using them outdoors and storing them indoors I would suggest finding something with a plastic bag so if they get wet they will dry quicker and possibly not smell

Can't think of a better value for sandbags

Honestly, these sandbags are excellent for the price. The zipper feels rugged, although you won't use it much (it will likely stay zipped) and the the material is very strong. I generally use fine playground sand and put it inside of a double locking ziplock bag, then inside of this sandbag. That way I have an extra layer of protection from water, breakage, etc.

I also fill these with variable amounts of sand for different stands, so they're more portable.

Definitely buy these if you are looking for a great sandbag at a great price.

Perfect size for photography light stands

Following the advice of other reviewers, I placed clean dry white sand into freezer zip lock bags then inserted one into each of the 2 pouches on the sandbag. I loaded one sandbag with a total of 12 lb of sand and the other three with 8 lb, which is what I need for my purpose.

I used a silver marker to write weights on the black nylon material. The bags are well made and have straps to aid in moving them around. The value is great compared to alternatives. I am very pleased with them.

Boat ballast.

I purchased for the purpose of adding some ballast to the front of my small fishing boat. Without a second
person up front my boat front would rise too much when I am trying to "plane" out the boat. I filled these with sand and can add as few or many as I desire. Prior to this I was using a 50 lb. sandbag which was a killer to get out of the boat if I had a second person along.

Perfect for a wedding videographer's light stands

This turned out to be perfect for my needs. A little smaller than expected but actually worked better. Smaller meant easier to get inside of the legs of the amazon basic light stands but still deep and wide enough to allow for enough sand to make it plenty stable. It got humped a few times and the light stayed up strong. But still light enough to lift the whole light stand up without removing the bag (albeit heavy) for short quick moves.

How did I go so long without these

These bags are so useful I don’t know how I did without them before.

I use these bags in my home studio to hold my (Amazonbasics) mic stand from falling over, which it used to do all the time, when I have the boom overhead. It’s great and I may buy more! Especially since I still have half a 50lb bag of sand leftover

Question & Answer

Question :

What doe these weigh per bag once filled with sand?

Answer :

I filled each side with 9 pounds of sand for a total of 18 pounds per bag. I sincerely doubt you will get much more sand in there than that. I also chose to use a Hefty 1 gallon freezer bag on each side for a "liner" to hold the sand, which will hopefully reduce the likelihood of the sand leaking out and also keep it dry when used outside during inclimate weather.

Question :

What kind of polyester material is this? Cordura? 1680D, 600D, etc

Answer :

Don’t know they are very heavy duty made well used them a lot never lose sand

Question :

Can these be used for exercising ?

Answer :

I guess you could use them for exercising. It depends if you swing them or drop them harshly. I don't think the zippers would last ling if you were swinging the bags around fully loaded. These are meant to weigh stuff down in a stationary position and are PERFECT for that application. We use we of these for pipe and drape base weights.

Question :

Are these bags graded for outdoor use?

Answer :

I've used them outdoors before but never in a muddy place. There canvas is pretty good but the zippers aren't great. I had 1 (and almost 2) zippers pull off the teeth so Inwas down one before I started.

Question :

Has anyone tried these on a pool ladder?

Answer :

No but provided you have a big enough gap between the wall and ladder, they'd probably work. I don't think they're designed for extended use in water though.

Question :

How would they hold up to 24/7 outdoor exposure? I need to weight down a yard swing frame.

Answer :

Bags are heavy canvas but Sun would Rot them after some time or rain would do it faster.

Question :

What material are these? Can I use iron on vinyl on it for my logo?

Answer :

Mine are heavy duty polyester and I suppose you could use iron on vinyl as long as the iron isn’t to hot.

Question :

Do these have a piece of metal in them?

Answer :

No

Question :

Can these be used to weigh down an offset patio umbrella?

Answer :

Perhaps. They aren't designed the same as a weighted umbrella base and may fall off in a breeze.

Question :

what's the dimension of each pouch opening?

Answer :

Appox 8in
