Purchased this 5-in-1 reflector set (32 inch round version) for a kindergarten class photo shoot that I did last week. This is the first time for me using reflectors and boy, I wish I would have purchased these sooner. I love photographing outdoors but there are definitely times where you are not able to control the lighting...it's Mother Nature! With this, you now have the ability to direct or filter the sunlight as needed. Living the the Pacific Northwest, the weather/sunlight is unpredictable to say the least. The photoshoot was right around lunchtime, so the sun was out in full force. My assistant was able to hold up the white filter and disperse/soften the harsh sunlight over the subject's face. This made a world of difference. We also used some of the reflective sides as the sun was beginning to angle behind the subject.
To summarize: This is a great purchase for any photographer shooting outdoors. It's easy to use and provides 5 different reflectors (one of which is a filter). I had no issues with folding it back up into the zippered case. Also, the handles are nice to have.

Oh how I love these reflectors
Oh how I love these reflectors! I know, it's unnatural to say you LOVE a big round thing that has silver, black, white, or gold panels that reflect light...but they are awesome. They come in a sturdy little bag, and are so easy to "pop" out and to put back into shape when it's time to store them. They are a great size and the handles make all the difference to me. If I'm out in the wind they are easy to hold on to. If I'm inside those handles are GREAT for hanging the reflectors on something nearby if I don't have enough hands to hold them myself.
The whole thing is well made and even after being accidentally stepped on, kicked, and bent a bit too far, it keeps bouncing right back.
I plan to buy other sizes and shapes as I learn more about lighting.

Good Quality Construction for the Price.
A nice inexpensive reflector that appears to be of reasonable construction for the price.
The basic "hoop" is a translucent diffusion material, great for softening a point-source light (just watch the temperature on incandescent lamps, it could catch fire!), with a zippered cover that has 4 bounce colors that can be brought to bear on the subject by reversing the cover and placing it back on the hoop.
I bought one to try it out and will be buying more in the near future. Very handy for remote locations where the Sun is the only light source.
I really like the molded plastic handles on the reflector; makes it much easier to control and fold. While the zippered pouch that holds the unit probably won't last long, it still is a good value for the price.

An easy five-star rating from me for quality vs price, ease of use, and practicality.
Every photographer should have several reflectors in various sizes to cover every situation. This particular size is very practical, but a larger rectangular is, for me, a must also. This 32" round is easy to use, and a quick twist folds it back down so it can be returned to its accompanying carrier.
There's a reflector color for every photography situation plus a filter to soften the harsh midday sunlight, which actually rescued me on a recent shoot. The handles are a bit of a bonus; they just make it a bit easier to manage.
This is really a must-have item. I always take a couple of reflectors with me on a shoot.

I have the two handle, larger model. The Frame is diffused when used by itself.
There is a single cover that "sandwiches" the diffused frame.
This cover is reversible, providing 4 different surfaces.
But whatever you choose, has only two sides.
You don't have every possible combination in one second, by turning the reflector over.
I think this is what you want to know...Thus, on the larger model;
White on one side, turn the reflector over; Gold. This is the most popular portrait combo.
Take the slipcover off, and turn inside out. Now you have Black / Silver.

Yes，your choice of color -- silver, gold, white, gold/silver mix -- will be determined by the lighting conditions, and your personal preference.

The kit is a main ring with a translucent white double sided reflector, which can be hand held.
It can be used as either a reflector or for softening the light coming in.
Then there is a cover which can be zipped over the main ring in two ways.
This has Black, White, on one side and Gold and Silver surfaces on the other.
You reverse it before pulling it over the main ring.
The Black can be used to totally shadow a light.
The three reflective ones are to bounce incoming light into the shadow side of the subject.
So two separate parts (plus transport bag) but with 5 distinct uses.

It's a shiny almost foil look to it but it's made of fabric.

I just purchased. Any tips on how to get it to the translucent side? Also, is it normal for one zipper side to not have a zipper handle?
Answer :
The Translucent is not a "side", it is the default on the frame.
It is white and will both diffuse, if put in the path of the light, or reflect if put on the shadow side, in the light – and used to "bounce" the light back in to lighten the shadows.
The zippers undo, so you can remove the Black/Silver cover completely. Just squeeze the main frame a bit and it will pop out.
You do not need to replace this "cover" but can just fold it up and put it back into the main bag alongside the white frame.
The trick is learning to re-fold the main frame. Check out on line if you have problems, but it really is just a "flick of the wrist" job. That is its design.
