ZM2 Worth it?
The Zeapon Micro 2 (ZM2) is the first slider I have purchased. The packaging was a sleek and simple unboxing. You get the Slider and a carrying bag. Well at least the version I purchased. I did not get all the bells and whistles. Just the slider.
The ZM2 has a good sturdy feel to it. Made of solid metal parts and the band is excellently made. At a quick glance, the ZM2 is a small slider doesn’t seem to get a lot of distance or weight to it. But looks are very deceiving.
The tripod has a length of 13 inches and travels from end-to-end at about 27 inches. Wow, mind bending right? I love that I’m able to get some great tracking shots from this small but effective piece of equipment. So far I’ve pushed the weight limit just under 9lbs. According to the specs, the ZM2 can handle 11lbs payload but I’ve heard that it has been able to handle a bit more with no problem.
At the time of writing this, the tracking is just perfect. There is some resistance to the band. Which I think helps in the stability and consistency of the camera motion. Some people prefer having a much light ouch to the touch however I find it that the small resistance just gives the flow Some extra smoothness to it.
The size is excellent for table tops and or placing it on the floor or those harder shoot takes that you can’t use a tripod for. Although, disclaimer, I do not personally own the Easylock 2 (small spider leg accessory) just yet.
Overall I really like this product. The price is just perfect for it. Love the portability of the ZM2 and I especially love how I can buy the add-on accessories at a later time to make it a great motorized slider. Little things like that makes it worth it IMO.

UPDATED 03/10/2022: I ended up ordering this slider from a different seller, and it worked with no issues. So the product itself deserves 5-star. However, I am leaving my original review below, because it wasn't this seller who fixed the problem.
I am posting this in hopes that the seller can help. I have wasted a few hours trying to figure out if I am missing anything. The slider is plugged in correctly (proper cord), it is unlocked, I even installed and connected the 2-start glitchy app, and NOTHING can make this slider move. It is not moving when the buttons on it are pressed, it is not moving using the app.
The user manual is useless in this regard, and there is no information that I could find to troubleshoot this. It's too pricey to not provide all of the necessary info, so I hope that the seller can help here. Otherwise returning.

This thing is solid. It's an absolute beast. But there are a few things you should know.
I've started using this slider on corporate shoots for a moving B cam. A few notes:
-The build quality is excellent. This thing is solid, extremely smooth, and seems to be very tough. No noticeable tilt when fully extended off the tripod.
-I love having buttons to use on the motor itself, but you are somewhat limited without the app.
-You should absolutely buy the additional belt attachment that allows you to use the slider manually. It's really easy to swap back and forth, and you CANNOT use this slider with the motor attached without power. It will lock up. So you need the belt as a backup. Taking the motor off also allows for the slider to pack down smaller.
-In manual mode without the motor, the slider is actually very smooth. The smoothest I've ever used actually. Because there is so much tension and friction, it allows for slow steady movements. DO NOT EXPECT ANY QUICK MOVEMENTS WITH THIS SLIDER. This is a "slow and steady" tool.
-The built on feet are a great feature. This allows you to use the slider on a table top. Although they will not work (maybe if fully extended) with a tripod plate on the bottom.
-This slider handled my 6lb camera with absolute easy when set at a nearly vertical angle. The motor is extremely powerful and did not struggle for a moment.
-I used Wasabi brand L-series batteries (the larger NPF-750) and I think I was still at like 70%+ power after a full day of use. So I don't think this thing uses much power.
THE APP:
The app has TERRIBLE reviews, but it works GREAT! It did not work at all at first, but once I updated the firmware for the slider motor everything worked flawlessly. YOU HAVE TO UPDATE YOUR MOTOR'S FIRMWARE.
(Here's the thing about the firmware: it took some Googling. It was NOT easy to figure out, the website was in Chinese and I used the auto translate option that popped up in Chrome. I don't quite remember but I believe I had to actually Google "Zeapon Micro 2 firmware update" to get to the right page. It will walk you through the steps, which aren't super user friendly, or there are YouTube videos, but it is still relatively simple and solved my issues on the first try which doesn't happen often.)
The main thing about the app is it allows me to put the slider in 'loop/repeat' mode which will have it continue back and forth. This is great when I'm the only camera op, as I can "set it and forget it" with my B Cam. It also allows you to very easily set different beginning and end points on the slider. I believe you can do it with just the buttons but I couldn't figure it out. And it gives you much greater control with the speed of the slider from 1-100%, instead of the 3 speed options with the buttons.
Overall I'm absolutely happy with my purchase, and this slider is a real hidden gem in the video world. For the price, it was worth every penny.
