Awesome Mini Ball Head
SIOTI Tripod Mini Ball Head - these things are great. I have tried several others and this is the best mini ball head that I have found. I use them to hold both small Travel Cameras (Panasonic DMC-Z50) and speed lights on horizontal mounts. The lock-down knob is both smooth and solid as a rock. I would have liked it if the circular mounting base on the top of the unit could be screwed off the stud but it appears to be on there for good; but I haven't taken a pipe wrench to it. I will be buying more of these for my future DIY projects before the price goes up or they disappear.
1/23/2018 - Update: Today while replacing one of the other mini-ball heads on one of my projects I noticed that these Sioti mini ball heads have only two to three full threads on the top 1/4" screw post. The ball head I was replacing has six to seven full threads and is approximately 5/8" long giving a solid connection into whatever you attach it to. Unfortunately, the Sioti is less than half the length of the no name mini ball head. I would be much happier if this top screw on the Sioti was longer. I have not had a unit break yet but it is a weak link in my opinion. However, the friction screw on the side is about 100 times better than the one on the head being replaced. It performed well on my monopod today. The Sioti provided enough friction to hold the Canon 60D, with a 55-250 lens, in a flexible yet tensioned so it could move with the target without having to unlock and lock the head. I sure wish those threads were not so short on the screw post.

Great ball head with stable and smooth adjustability, holds up a Surface Pro 6.
I realize most folks buy these ball heads for cameras, but I use them to hold up devices. I've tried a few different brands and price points, and the best way I can describe this one is that you'll get a $40-$50 quality ball head for about $16.
Now, back to what I use it for: I've put together a few rigs to hold up iPads and Surface Pro's. My requirements are the ball head needs to hold up about 2lbs (and at odd-angles, at that), be easily adjustable, and be affordable. Additionally, the ball-head itself has to be light enough because its sitting at the end of an arm and every gram makes a difference in the stability of the rig (I've tried some high quality ball heads that literally weigh as much as the device and bring the arm down due to their weight).
This thing hit all those marks.
Another notable thing is that most cheaper ball heads have a nicely polished ball... which means they will creep with just small vibrations. This one is textured and holds its spot very nicely.
The only way I would improve this ball head is to make the fixed base a bit smaller in diameter (for folks like me who'll need to mount it onto something else and need some clearance for additional adjustment screws, etc.)

Seem well made, ball a little gritty/stiff in socket at first, Solution found.
I need low profile ball heads for a variety of purposes in video production. Good quality, high load mini-ball heads are not easy to find, particularly at a reasonable price. I was a big fan of the Osrso ball heads, but can't find them anymore, so thought I'd try these. The SIOTI ballheads are very comparable to the Osrso brand, maybe a bit shorter and with a bigger, sturdier looking ball and thicker neck.
The ball on both (I bought two) seemed a bit gritty and unfinished, a little stiff to move around in the socket at first. I took a pencil (graphite) and scribbled all over the surface of the ball on each one and then moved it around in the socket to spread it around. This helped a lot; the ball moves smoothly and easily through its range and I am very happy with the purchase. Probably going to buy a couple more before they go the way of Osrso and disappear.

For what I used it for, does the job well and I don't have to think about it.
I got two of these mini ball heads to mount a couple of small video cameras for livestreaming at my church.
I put a pretty hefty screw-in magnet into the bottom screw of these and then mount them to a metal plate when we start streaming. I don't often have to move the angle of the cameras around, but when I do, the ball head disengages and engages smoothly. Moreover, it doesn't release in a 'sudden' way, reducing the possibility of jerky camera movement.
I don't know if I'd use it for my expensive DSLR, but for a mostly static video camera, it does well.

Super High Quality Mini Ball Head
I ordered two of these, hoping that they would live up to the good ratings. I was not disappointed! The build quality is superb. The whole assembly has some heft to it. It locks securely in all positions. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality craftsmanship, so I can honestly say this is a product that will hold up well. As far as the locking knob is concerned, I really wanted to have some type of lever-action lock, but the locking knob operates smoothly and is easy to tighten. If you are looking for a mini ball head for your camera or camcorder, or even accessories like a light or microphone, you can be sure this one will work marvelously for you!

Nice little ball head.
I use this little ball head almost exclusively on my Camvate super clamp. In the interest of quality photos, I use a sturdy tripod 90+ percent of the time. But this combination works well on those days when you simply want to take a walk unencumbered by a pile of heavy equipment. (The Camvate works well as a sturdy support clamped to doors, branches, picnic tables, fence rails etc.).
In the interest of full disclosure, I rarely shoot with telephoto lenses these days. So I can't address that issue here. But I can tell you that this little ball head handles the weight (with ease) of my Canon T7i body and both of my preferred Canon fixed lenses, the 24 mm 2.8 pancake lens, and the 50 mm 1.8. Granted these lens are not heavy, but with these combinations I haven't noticed any slippage.
For a mini head in this price range, I believe this to be a quality product.

Exactly what I needed
I needed a ball head style mount for my Atomos recorder to fit atop my Canon C500. I wanted something small and functional and this little gadget is exactly that. The build quality is quite good at this price. (I did NOT want some big complicated cage rig/arm etc. That only slows down my style of production.) This little device solved my problem. I’m ordering a couple more to stash in bags so one is always available. Will also use it for small cameras to mount in various locations. A darn good product.

it is also one of the most beautifully made tools of any kind I have ever owned
This piece of equipment is not only perfectly suited to its purpose, it is also one of the most beautifully made tools of any kind I have ever owned, and I own thousands of tools. This comes as close to being perfect as anything I own. It easily matches the quality of the parts on a top of the line German- made microscope I own. I would have been just as satisfied if I had paid $100.00 for this. I am now going to try to find out what other things this company makes because if this is an example of the kind of quality that can be expected from them, I will be sure to buy more!

Excelent ball head
WOW!! THIS ball head is worth every penny. Very smooth turning ball head and when the knob is turned to lock it in place that ball head is not moving anywhere.
Highly recommend, just buy it.
I purchased to place a Raleno led panel as a key light for zoom calls and streaming. I will like to see if I can use it to hold my Sony a7iii

DIY DJI Controller Mount
I purchased this Mini Tripod Ball Head to make a custom controller mount for my DJI Controller to hold a DJI Crystal Sky Monitor.
Works out perfectly, is the perfect height, very easy to adjust and lightweight. Twist the knob and it loosens the entire mount and you can swivel and adjust to your liking and then just tighten and it will lock the mount in place.

Question & Answer
Question :
Need more photos of this item! if i could see an image of the bottom, i wouldn't need to ask if it has a threaded hole in the bottom. does it? ty
Answer :
Of course it does. It would be useless if it didn't. After all, it's meant to attach to a tripod. All tripod heads have a 1/4" x 20 threaded hole to mount to a tripod. Funny question!
Question :
how many grams does this weigh?
Answer :
It weighs 100g based on my postal scale. It's lightweight, but very robust. I've got two and I love them!
Question :
Does this have also 3/8 thread on bottom for use with professional tripods?
Answer :
There is a 1/4" -20 threaded hole in the bottom, the same size as the screw on the top.
Question :
Will this head work for mounting a telescope for celestial viewing on a camera tripod?
Answer :
Yes, it works with telescope/camera/projector, if your telescope is >1kg or >0.5m, 36mm ball head may be better.
Question :
Will this allow for panoramic shots or is it only intended for fixed shots?
Answer :
Panoramic shots are a function of the camera, more specifically, the aspect ratio you are shooting in and it has nothing to do with tripod ball mounts. Perhaps you're asking if you can rotate this mount WHILE shooting. If that's what you mean, don't use a ball head. Use a head that's rotation vertically and horizontally are done separately. Such a head will have two locking knobs or handles.
Question :
can this replace the manfrotto 482 mount?
Answer :
If it has a standard tripod thread yes.
Question :
What is the mm diameter of the ball joint?
Answer :
The threaded base diameter is 30mm, screw mount diameter is 30mm and the ball diameter is about 23mm.
Question :
is this coming from china i will not buy any thing that is being ship to usa from china just because of the varies going around over there?
Answer :
Don‘t worry, please! 1st: all products were shipped before virus event, 2nd: everyone will wear mask and gloves during working, 3rd: all virus will be killed because of leaving environment in several hours.
Question :
I want to use this on a monopod to use with binoculars. Will this attach to a garden variety monopod?
Answer :
The head can support 0.8kg photographic part, and have 2 1/4in connector.
Question :
Can I buy additional quick release plates (for more than one camera)?
