Very sturdy, very worth it.

I bought this and an AmazonBasics larger tripod for travel. I wish that the larger Manfrottos weren't as expensive, because I love this little guy. This tiny one and the full sized AmazonBasics were pretty close to the same price, so at first I was hesitant to buy a 20-25$ tiny tripod. Upon receiving it, I now know how sturdy it is, how well it feels and how easy it is to operate. Well worth the money for these small ones. Will I ever justify the price of the larger ones? Probably not for some time. But I can tell you if you ever need to take pictures or videos from a desk, or workbench, or any place of that nature, this is the way to go. I can't imagine having a cheap tripod again after this, for better or for worse.

and helps a great deal, but even so there is still strain

You'll laugh when you hear for what purpose I bought this mini tripod. I purchased it to support the "Universal iPad Tablet Tripod Mount Holder Adapter for Apple iPad 2, 3, 4, iPad Mini 1st, 2, 3, - Samsung Galaxy Tab, Tab 2, Tab 3, Tab 4, Tab Pro" I had purchased last month which is holding my new Kindle gen 8 reader.
My hands are getting old, unlike the rest of me of course. I'm finding it more difficult to hold the thin Kindle, despite the Kindle cover.
The universal table holder fits it perfectly, and helps a great deal, but even so there is still strain.
The universal tablet holder has a female fitting for a tripod mount.
You guessed it.
The Manfrotto mini tripod is a wonderfully stable "wand" with the perfect ergonomic diameter for my hand when the legs are closed.
Or when needing the Kindle supported hands free, the mini tripod now performs as it was intended, with legs opened.
I suppose I could use the mini tripod for one of my cameras too.

Compact, versatile, well built and designed

A compact, versatile, robust mini tripod with a few convenient uses.

This is the 6th purchase of this tripod model for personal use and as gifts for loved ones.

I've used this tripod, coupled with the manfrotto universal cellphone holder, mostly for watching movies on my phone and using it as a pseudo selfiestick/cam holder when taking vids and pics with the mobile phone.

Very portable and use it often at work and during plane travels.

This tripod folds up easy and quick. The ball head adjusts quick and precisely to get the perfect angle for watching shows on the phone or taking pics.

I've also used this to mount my go pro on. Very stable platform.

Pixi size for mini cameras

There are a ton of mini tripods out there, of varying degrees of quality - and price. Manfrotto's entry seemed surprisingly inexpensive for their brand, and of course the product is made in China. However, I've been pleasantly surprised. I typically use a very light camera, such as the Panasonic GM1 with 20mm f1.7 pancake lens. When combined with the Panasonic smartphone app, this was a hiker's dream kit. The small size and contoured shape of the tripod made it fit well into a pocket, and when set up, the adjustable head made it easy to get just the angle I wanted. Of course, without an app to check your framing, you'd be laying your face to the ground to check the LCD of a camera without a flip-up LCD feature. All in all, this has been a very sturdy and easy to pack miniature option for small cameras.

Perfect for vlogging

I'm a youtuber and this tripod is the best out there. I was debating on getting the ones that can bend and attach to anything but throughout looking at other youtubers with it and their cameras falling I decided to go with one that will stand. I love how slim it is and sturdy. Makes vlogging so much easier because I can hold my camera higher and make sure my face is in the frame. I love making montages with it. I did not realize the little red button was to move it around, it has the best angles. You can have your camera facing up or down. If the one I have now ever need replacing i will come back and get this one. I will say the white gets a bit dirty so I might go with black. I got white because it matched my camera.

Great product

Absolutely great product. Bought as an add on to replace a less than study tripod that came with the projector I had ordered. This product is very sturdy and can hold a good amount of weight. Easy to use. Swivel head makes it easy to adjust your picture angle.

Build quality is great, look and feel is great

This is on the larger side of the mini tripods. It clearly supports a larger camera even with a zoom lens. I have Canon 70D with 70-200 f/4 and with no problem this supports that lens and body. It's quite light, however it's obviously not as portable to carry with you if you have a small point and shoot.

Build quality is great, look and feel is great, too.

Highly recommended if you have an SLR and larger point and shoots. If you have a smaller point and shoot, you can use this as a stabilization device as well adding a little bit more bulk to your camera so that it becomes more stable.

Recommend completely

This thing is tough and very well made. I currently have it under my LG projector and it's exactly what I needed. Could hold something much heavier without any problem and the adjustable button in the front makes moving it at any angle a breeze. Very much recommend.

Best bang out your BUCK for a mini tripod.

The Manfrotto MTPIXI-WH PIXI Mini Tripod has the amazing potential to be the best mini tripod on the market. With its modern design and ease of use features I have no regrets on ordering this product. This mini tripod easily fits with Sony a5100 w\ 10-50mm lens attached to camera and 50mm prime lens inside of my smaller SONY camera bag. The construction is amazing, it very little weight and the ball head rotates 360 degrees and tilts all four directions to about a 15 degree angle (maybe more). I worried a little about the white getting dirty, but I'm using this tripod to vlog me remolding my house and I have not noticed any dirt sticking to the tripod. For the price this tripod was a steal. The new Manfrotto pixi evo has the option of extendable legs and the mount turns separate from the body and legs of the tripod, but for 30+ dollars less I can live with out those options. Thank you Manfrotto for an amazing product!!!!

Great accessory for your camera/field bag (Photo & Audio)

While this is the simpler version, it does a great job holding my mirrorless camera or sound recorder at various angles. The Manfrotto logo button is the ball release and is very intuitive as well as pretty. The materials are well thought out, and when the legs are folded in, it forms a great shape to grip. I also opted for the universal smartphone holder that can be attached to the Pixi. The design is fantastic - you won't be disappointed.

Question & Answer

Question :

Can the legs be tightened if they loosen? If so - is it a screw or hex nut? Size if hex nut?

Answer :

I do not believe that these legs were designed or mounted in such a way as to be tightened. There is a plate or leg mounting cover located on the bottom side of this tripod that uses three self tapping screws which are about 3/4" in length. These screws have heads which require a #8 Torx bit and driver to install or remove. I took mine apart to check. The legs pivot or fold in/out using two small stub shafts and two saddles per leg. I can see no way to tighten these legs except to keep that bottom mounting cap or plate tight. I hope this helps some :)

Question :

Will it hold a Samsung F90 White Camcorder?

Answer :

I'm using mine for small still cameras (i.e. Sony RX100, RX10), but it should work fine for the Samsung F90 based on the light weight of that camera. Keep in mind the ball joint is kind of stiff (by design), so you won't be able to do panning with a movie camera. The size is small and lightweight so it's great for travel. If you need to pan and tilt smoothly for live video, I'd look elsewhere.

Question :

Is the white turning dial supposed to rotate to attach your camera? Mine will not turn and appears to be “stuck”. Thanks!

Answer :

If you depress the side button, the head will swivel and turn a bit, but I just collapse the tri pod legs and spin the whole assembly to attach to the camera threads.

Question :

The tripod legs are metal or plastic?

Answer :

Hi Phantomas,
Thank you for your inquiry.
The tripod legs are made of heavy duty plastic.

Question :

what does it come with?

Answer :

Exactly what you see in the picture. Just the tripod.

Question :

Would this work well with the Nikon 1 series camera ? Thanks for your help

Answer :

As the Nikon 1 series bodies are pretty small and also the current lenses for these bodies aren't that big, it'll work great with this tripod. I was surprised how sturdy it actually is for its size. I'm using it mainly with a Sony NEX-6 body and a huuuuge Rokinon 16mm f2.0. And it doesn't wobble or anything. My advice is to try it out for a couple of days and simply return it if you aren't happy with it. You basically have nothing to lose. Hope this helped. Namaste

Question :

how tall is it from the bottom to the top of it and how inches wide apart will the lags go?

Answer :

The Manfrotto tripod is compact. Here are the measured dimensions as I measure them. I hope this is helpful.
Standing: With its three legs fully spread, the tripod's footprint describes an equilateral triangle of 8.5 inches (21-22 cm.) on each side. (The rounded foot of each leg is about 0.75 inches (2 cm.) wide; so that makes precise measurement of the triangle difficult -- but the 8.5 inch measurement of each side is pretty close.)
It stands 5 inches high (13 cm.) with its legs spread and deployed.
Folded: It is 7 inches (18 cm.) long, about 1.75 inches (4.5 cm.) wide, while folded -- so it fits into a pocket or a camera bag well. Folded it has a low profile if hung from the flat camera-bag straps on the exterior of some Lowe Pro bags. It's a convenient, simple, and sturdy device.

Question :

what does it come with besides the tripod??

Answer :

Just the mini tripod. Nothing else in the retail blister card package.

Question :

what does it come with besides the tripod?? also, could i use this for taking videos in the beach using a selfie stick with gopro?

Answer :

Just the mini tripod. You cannot attach this mini tripod to a selfie stick.

Question :

planning to use this as a stand for my gopro using evo/light extension pole. Would this work?

Answer :

You can certainly mount any type of camera onto this mini-tripod. However, there is no way to mount this mini onto a pole or monopod since there is no thread in the bottom of the body of the tripod.
